I can almost feel it coming in the air

Check out the view of last night’s sunset from my backyard. It was freaky weird.
The air is completely still. There is this heaviness in the air. The birds are unusually quiet.
Even our pets are acting more squirrely than they usually do. The dogs are strangely aloof. The cats are howling and yowling like crazy. Their behavior could be because they are ticked at us for leaving for several days.
It is freaking humid which for the Central Valley of Cali in July is unusual. I swear it is too hot and heavy to do things like laundry, dusting and vacuuming…not that I would really need an excuse not to do these things.
Back in the day when we lived in the Bay Area, Bill and I referred to this as earthquake weather. I don’t know if there is any scientific data to support that but it was a lot like this right before the Loma Prieta quake in ’89. We both remember it well. According to the news, there was a mild temblor in the East Bay and then another near Sonoma on Friday.
Hmmmm…
