no longer envious

Even though I am surrounded by boxes that need to be unpacked, windows with no curtains hanging and bare-assed walls with no art and photographs decorating them, the Big Top is mostly settled into it’s new location. It was a huge undertaking to move from a 5 bedroom home to a 4 bedroom one and it was no easier moving just over the freeway as it was from over a hundred miles. But we are here and quickly making this house our home. Thank goodness for the help of two new friends, one old friend, a somewhat reluctant son-in-law, our darling daughter #1 and my dear old Dad and youngest sister. Seriously, we could not have done it without ANY of you.

THANK YOU!

Dad came to visit, with my younger sister, Elana, last week ready to celebrate Abby’s graduation, visit and spoil his favorite grandkids and great-grandkid…er, his only grandkids! Much to his surprise we were in the process of packing up the Big Top for our anticipated big move. Thankfully, he was more than ready to lend a hand in the moving, or as much of the move as I would allow because “Dad we have to live here for one more week!“. I am so glad that he stepped up and lent a hand because it was that much more that we didn’t have to move in the rain this last weekend.

Even more, I am so thankful for his generous, big surprise for me. Here’s the proof that my Dad does read my blog.

I already knew that he did but here is the actual hold-it-in-my-hands proof. After reading about my embarrassing envy of a stranger iPad at a nursing conference, he bought me an iPad 2 for my very own.

Yeah, I was shocked, surprised and excited.

OMG, MY DAD BOUGHT ME AN iPAD 2!!!!

Yeah, my kids think I am spoiled.

But I am no longer envious.

Now to put it to good use. I’m already getting started. So do tell…what are your favorite apps and why would I want them on my ‘Pad?

  1. Now I am envious. I do not have anything that takes an app. Cindy at work has a cool one that translates and speaks aloud in any language. So she just types in what she wants to say and the device puts it in writing and says it out loud. She swears by it.
