When they are small and helpless and completely dependent on us we are parental super heroes. Thankfully they can’t see our weaknesses that we hide so well with our capes. Then they grow up and realize that we really can not fly. We aren’t faster than speeding bullets. We just can not bend steel in our bare hands. We are not able to chase away and destroy all the scary monsters.
If only we could.
But to our children, no matter how small or how grown they are we can promise one truth always and forever.
This much, my dear children, I know is true.
Love you.

Very nice sentiment and much overlooked.
