THIRTY FOUR WEEKS! 8½ months pregnant!!!

People we are thisclose to finally seeing the Coming Attraction 2.0. Are you excited? I’m excited. Hazel is excited. Daniel is excited. Ben is excited. Bill is excited but perhaps a little stressed because he is still working on refinishing the baby’s crib for the kids with less than six weeks to go…tick-tock-tick-tock.

Meanwhile, the Coming Attraction 2.0 is busy growing and getting her chub on. Little baby girl is around 5 pounds now and is about 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she’s born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well.

Holly  is feeling the size of her baby girl as she stretches out and makes herself comfortable in her little bed-womb. At this point it is hard carrying another human around inside your body. She is tired all the time. It is harder to move around…especially when dealing with an active, stubborn, squirmy 3 year old…not that MY grand daughter would EVER be giving her mommy, my daughter, a hard time. Nooooo!!! Hazey-Face and I hard a heart to heart earlier this week after her mommy dropped her off for a visit. I could see the exhaustion and stress all over my baby girl and I knew someone needed to understand just how hard this stage is.

Trust me, I know. I know too well.

It’s hard out there for a preggo at this point, especially hard when the gestating mama has a busy, bright, active, stubborn child to care for as well. Hazel and I have spent a lot of time this week talking about how hard it is for her mommy to breathe, to walk, to sit, to sleep with her baby sister growing and stretching all over the place inside her mommy’s belly. Hang in there, Holly! Not much longer. You have lots of help here under the Big Top, especially from me.

Speaking of not much longer, Hazel has already tossed out her predictions for the Coming Attraction’s arrival. She informed her mommy on the 11th of this month that her baby sister would be born in just 30 days which is a bit off from the estimated due date of November 26. Still I know that if Hazel is right it will certainly make my friends Mike and Matt happy to have a little birthday buddy. Hazel has also predicted that her baby sister will be weighing in at 8lbs 3oz which means her sister will indeed be littler than she was at birth…by one whole ounce. We shall see.
