We are all smiling a lot here under the Big Top right about now. Back to school for Jodie and Daniel is this Thursday. Hazel starts preschool too. Jodie has the perfect fall semester schedule for her junior year so she will be able to balance school, work and dance. Abby and Zoë’s financial aid came through and they both got the courses they want and need. Zoë is coming back to the Big Top for a visit in a couple weeks before her classes begin. And the school district’s special education department made an eleventh hour decision (thanks to my letter writing campaign, advice and support from friends in low and high places who know what they are talking about when it comes to special education and the law and some very persuasive arguments and questions I posed to the director of special ed) Daniel is STAYING at the school he was at last year.

I can’t even begin to explain the cloud of stress and worry this has been on the entire family…especially Daniel. It has been a battle and an education along the way. Thank goodness for so many who have come alongside us with advise, education and most useful support. I am always awed by this amazing boy of mine but even more so by the ever-growing base of support he has as he continues to grow and thrive.
