Big Top Halloween

We are fully stocked

Prepped

And ready to go here under the Big Top…

and not so near under the Big Top.

And some of us are cleverly disguised as Giants fans celebrating the World Series Sweep in San Francisco today.

Nevertheless, we are ready for some haunting…

and not a moment too soon because the Trick or Treaters are out and about.

That includes the neighbors across the street.

You have to admit that they are kind of cute.

This one was so cute she got extra candy…just for being so cute.

Admit it, you do the same thing too.

This week’s Focus 52 prompt is SPOOKY.

Happy Halloween everyone!

the new neighbors across the street

They have scarcely moved in and are only beginning to get settled and they are already coming across the street asking to borrow shit!

I guess that I can’t complain too much.

I mean they are kind of cute.

Welcome to the neighborhood and may I add that I am SO glad that y’all have moved out of Stockton…now go home!

This week’s Focus 52 prompt was SILHOUETTES which I have to confess was harder than I thought it would be. Either the subject was perfect and the lighting was all wrong or the lighting was perfect and there was no subject or time for me to stop and capture it. I think I’m going to have to keep on playing with silhouettes.

In the meantime, I’m going to try and get to know these new neighbors of mine better…if I can.

it’s a sign

The grands are here three days a week while Hollie and Ben are working hard for the money. Hurray for free childcare!

It’s all good. I do love the time I get to spend with my grands, Trouble and The Little Monster, a.k.a. Hazel and Fallon. I don’t recall working this hard back in the day when I had three babies in diapers and potty training and taxiing another to and from school and other activities. It’s amazing how parental amnesia makes us forget the really sucky, hard stuff. How else would our species survive? Then I happen to come upon happiness like this:

There she is, encouraging her baby sister Fallon.

Then Buster has to get in to the act, pressing his nose against the glass and getting all up in Hazel’s business.

And to think I find myself wondering, out loud, often, why it is that I can’t have nice things…or clean windows. After all these years, you’d think I would see and appreciate or accept the signs.

Sigh!

But thank goodness I do have so much fun and so many memories made with these two amazing grandbabies of mine…and with Buster too.

This week’s Focus 52 prompt was Signs. Be sure to check out more signs over at Jan’s place and may I invite you to join in on next week’s prompt. It is Silence. Now to ponder how I might capture silence with my camera here with this circus act.

her favorite book

Any time and every time Hazel is here under the Big Top she sits down and looks at her favorite book.

She will tell you that it is the story about the day her Mommy and Daddy got married…and that she was there. She will then tell you that it is a really great book.

It is.

Happy anniversary to arguably one of the most beautiful bridal couples that I have ever seen. Happy anniversary Hollie and Ben!

a lesson for the newlyweds

Thanks to Pinterest, Hollie and I had THE perfect gift for the newest Mr. and Mrs.

The basket turned out perfect and looked beautiful…as it sat on the dining room table in Hollie and Ben’s house…while we all were at the Firehouse in Sacramento.

Ack!

It wouldn’t be a wonderful wedding without a little mishap or two.

So we punted with a fun card from the four of us offering our “expert” old-married people advice:

Never assume anything…as in never assume the other one remembered to put the gift in the car before you drive 75 miles to the wedding.
